Amma’s vision of Gho Samrakshana (or protection of cows), is a well-known and established fact. Over the years, the protection of abandoned, stray, injured and vulnerable cows is part of the temple’s dedicated activities. Hundreds of cows that are abandoned or sold to slaughter houses are bought back by the teams here, and protected.

 

This project initiated by Sri Vellore Amma ensures protection, undertakes rescues and works towards enhancement of their lives. In most cases, when the cows age or are unable to give milk, they are abandoned, sold or illtreated. With loving care, nutrition and positive environment, it is observed that these cows have started giving milk again. This is considered to be amongst the most fulfilling initiatives, and with greater support or contributions, this can go to greater heights.
